Search And Find (Ecclesiastes)
Ecclesiastes teaches believers how to live wisely in a vaporous world. The Preacher examines life under the sun and exposes the limits of work, pleasure, wisdom, wealth, power, legacy, and human control. The book is honest about death, injustice, repetition, uncertainty, and frustration, but it teaches us to receive ordinary gifts from God, live humbly within our limits, and fear God and keep His commandments.

God Rebuild Us (Nehemiah)
Nehemiah tells the story of God’s restorative work among His returned people after exile. The wall matters, but the book is about more than walls. It moves from holy burden to courageous action, from shared labor to opposition, from external rebuilding to internal renewal, and finally to the sobering realization that even rebuilt walls and strong leadership cannot finally cure the human heart. Nehemiah points beyond itself to the need for the deeper rebuilding God brings through Christ.

Jonah is not mainly a children’s fish story. It is a sharp prophetic narrative exposing the heart of a servant who knows God’s mercy but resents its reach. The book moves from running, to rescue, to reluctant preaching, to angry resistance, and finally to God’s unanswered question. Jonah confronts God’s people with the wideness of divine compassion and the ugliness of selective grace.

Light in the Darkness (Daniel)
Daniel teaches God’s people how to live faithfully when the world feels dominated by proud and beastly powers. The narratives show faithful exiles living under Babylonian and Persian rule without surrendering their identity, and the visions reveal that kingdoms rise and fall, arrogant rulers persecute, unseen conflict is real, but the Ancient of Days reigns, the Son of Man receives the kingdom, the wise will shine, and God’s people will stand in resurrection hope.

Partnering in the Gospel (Philippians)
Philippians teaches believers how to share in the gospel with joy, humility, courage, unity, contentment, and generosity. Paul writes from prison, but the letter is not controlled by prison. It is controlled by Christ. The gospel advances in chains, Christ is proclaimed, the church is called to live worthy of the gospel, and joy is found by making Christ the center of life, death, relationships, thought, and giving.
